Tumblr is For the Birds
Whenever I want to design a new character, along with looking at reference for real animals, I will gather up other artist’s drawings/paintings of said animal. I do this to not only to get inspired and to see how different people interpret the same creature, but to help me avoid from making my design(s) look like a pre-established character.
In this case, I’m designing a tiger. So I made up a big collage of different tiger designs. They go all over the map, from the deceivingly simple and abstract to overly realistic and detailed. A wide, varied spectrum of designs!
So why am I posting this here? For anyone who needs it, I guess.
